On 2 June 2008, the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service celebrates its 6th year anniversary and a garden party was held at Buckingham Palace where alumni groups were invited to meet with Her Majesty.

This year there are 79 winners from across the United Kingdom out of a total 379 eligible nominations. They will receive their Awards from their local Lord-Lieutenant on The Queen's behalf.
